About Parker Pies
Parker Pies in Rutherglen is a family owned and operated business which was established by Fred and Bernadette Parker in 1996. The business has grown considerably since then and now occupies a prime retail site in Rutherglen's Main Street. Parker Pies' reputation and success has been built on:
- Using the freshest and local ingredients (where possible)
- Producing a range of delicious, award-winning pies encased in a crisp, golden pastry
- Great staff
- Genuine country hospitality
- And of course, great coffee!
Parker Pies employs 17 local residents to staff a business that sells over 250,000 pies and pastries per year! In fact there are many local kids whose first ever job was clearing tables at Parker Pies. Those who know Fred will tell you that he is a man of great generosity, passion and vision who loves his shop, his pies, his family and has his finger in 'many pies’ when it comes to supporting the Rutherglen community.
Fred is also a keen bike rider and part of the enthusiastic group of local cyclists, known colloquially as the CRABS (Corowa Rutherglen Amateur Bicyclists). For anyone visiting Rutherglen and up for a ride, the group heads out on Saturday and Sunday mornings from Parker Pies at 7.30 am for rides of anywhere between 40 to 100 kms. Naturally, the group finishes at Parker Pies for the all important post-ride coffee.
All products are available dine in or takeaway with the ever popular frozen Bake at Home Range also available.
